There's now scientific research that proves that Laughter really is the best medicine.
As over 70% of all illnesses are now stress related, laughter yoga acts as a perfect tonic by reducing the level of the stress hormone cortisol and releasing endorphins, the feel good hormones, into the blood stream. Laughter has also been shown to boost the immune system and improve the blood flow so it can help prevent and fight disease.
Whilst we all know how to laugh, most of us don't get the opportunity with the average person managing only 14 laughs per day as compared to over 400 for an infant. Laughter workshop incorporates a series of simple fun exercises that encourage us to laugh naturally. And the interesting thing is that the brain doesn't know the difference between real laughter and fake laughter, so everyone that participates benefits. Suitable for all ages, all that's required is a childlike playfulness.
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."
Oscar Wilde
